Current Volunteer Needs

Worship

Altar Guild - The Altar Guild works behind the scenes to set up (and clean up) our worship areas for Sunday worship, funerals, and other services as needed. This team also oversees the decorating of our church for the different seasons.

Greeters - Our greeters are the first faces our guests see when they enter our church for worship services. This team welcomes guests before worship with a warm, friendly smile and helps them find their way throughout the church.

Ushers - As our guests enter our worship spaces, our ushers greet them warmly, distribute bulletins, gather offerings, and help serve Communion. This team also assists worshipers with any special needs during the worship service.

Acolytes - In our traditional services, our acolytes are a group of children (1st - 5th grade) and adults who light the candles (representing the Light of Christ) and assist with the offering and first Sunday Communion.

Production - Once our guests are in our worship spaces, it is very important for them to see and hear what is taking place. If you are technically minded, we need Front of House and Online Audio Engineers, Slide Operators, Video Directors and Camera Operators. Training is provided.

Worship Leaders - There are many opportunities to use your gifts to lead worship. Join our Worship Choir, Vocal Team, Handbells, Orchestra, or Band. Check out the Worship page for more information. If you are interested in any of our worship opportunities, contact Dale at dale@graysonumc.org or Greta at greta@graysonumc.org

Not Sure Where Your Spiritual Gifts Lie?

God calls each and every one of us to ministry, but maybe not how you might think! In big ways and small ways, we can all contribute to expand the Kingdom of God.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in  accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.  (Romans 12:6-8)
