What is Stephen Ministry?

What is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry is non-denominational ministry equipping lay people to provide high quality, one to one Christian care to people in our church and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.  Stephen Ministry is an extension of the care the pastors and staff provide.

Why do I need a Stephen Minister?

Anyone going through one of life’s trials that need someone to walk alongside them through the trial.  Stephen Ministers go through 40 hours of training that equips them to provide one to one Christian care.  Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry. The identity of those receiving care and everything they discuss with a Stephen Minister remain private.

How do I get assigned a Stephen Minister?

A person can either call the church through the dedicated and confidential phone line or consent to a referral through a friend or family member.  Once the Stephen Minister is assigned, the person and the Stephen Minister then decide where they will meet.  The Stephen Minister has committed to meeting a minimum of one hour per week.
