Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

— Galatians 6:21

There are many opportunities for being the hands and feet of Christ and serving in our community. Take a look below and get involved!

Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry (Southeast Co-op)

The goal of the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry is to walk alongside local households that are struggling financially, by offering assistance aimed at supporting their efforts to afford the basics of life.

The primary function of the Co-Op is to provide FOOD and or NON-FOOD pantry support.   Households that utilize the Co-Op as a food resource can free up money that then can be applied to other household needs.  A family of 4 has the opportunity to receive approximately $1,800 in pantry supplies yearly.

A secondary potential benefit of the Co-Op is financial assistance for utility and prescription drug expenses.  This limited benefit is intended to provide additional support to proactive households that utilize the Co-Op on a steady basis as a food source for their family.  A steady basis is defined as using the Co-Op for food and/or non-food Pantry assistance a minimum of 6 times in the past 12-month period (from current visit date).

Path Project

Path Project is a mission founded by Jim and Melinda Hollandsworth in 2009 to empower children living in mobile home parks to find their path to high school graduation and then to find their path to God’s plan for their life.

Recreation Ministry

The GUMC Rec Ministry strives to provide a Christian environment for players and families that focus on learning the game, building a community, and growing in faith. GUMC REC Ministry offers many different sporting opportunities for children and adults. Our children’s sports ministries include: basketball, soccer, and flag football. Our adult’s sports ministries include: softball (both coed and men’s), and pickleball.  We are constantly working to bring new sports to GUMC and will be considering new seasons as time progresses.
